The Experiential Leader Scholarship

Your leadership capabilities are equally as important.

Apply what you’ve learned as a leader through your education, career, extracurricular activities or through life events you’ve experienced to have a chance to be published on our blog, The Leadership Examiner, and earn $1,000 scholarship to further your education!

Eligibility Requirements

In order to apply for The Experiential Leader Scholarship, applicants must meet the criteria listed below:

  • Must be planning to attend a college or university either full or part-time during the 2018-2019 academic year.
  • For applicants under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  • Submit a completed application through the instruction below.
  • Submit an original essay that meets the requirements below.

Essay Requirements

To apply for Experience to Lead’s Experiential Leader Scholarship, applicants must submit an original essay in the form of a blog post.  The post should illustrate a story of leadership in action (can demonstrate successful leadership or failed leadership).  After telling the story, illustrate 3 well organized points of how actions, inactions, decisions or indecision, dynamics or circumstances demonstrates leadership lessons that we all can learn from.

The blog post should be between 500 – 750 words (including headers and footnotes). Submissions with more than 750 words will be cut off and evaluated at the 750 word mark.  Story can be an original experience of your own or an event from history.  Story must be a true story to the best of your knowledge (fiction, novels, movies are ineligible).

A completed application and essay must be submitted by February 28, 2018.  The winner of the $1,000 scholarship will be announced by April 1, 2018 on our LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook pages. Questions? Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Publication Information and Release:

The top three submissions will be published on our website’s blog, The Leadership Examiner.  However, only the first place winner will receive the financial award of $1,000 for exclusive use towards educational expenses.  By submitting your application you agree to the following:

By submitting my application I agree to allow Experience to Lead to publicly announce my name through social media and their website as a winner of the award if I am chosen. I also agree to allow Experience to Lead to publish my written works as part of their blog, The Leadership Examiner, under my by-line. I agree that I will receive no compensation for the published works and relinquish my right to seek compensation from Experience to Lead. Furthermore, I guarantee that the essay submission is my original work.  If it is found that I have plagiarized another’s work, I will immediately become ineligible to receive the scholarship and my essay will be disqualified.  No future submission will be accepted for consideration.
